How can there be a trinity when the Schma says HEAR O ISRAEL THE LORD IS ONE?
Here is the answer.
Echad is also used in Genesis 2:24: “A man shall leave his mother and cleave to his wife and to 2 shall be one flesh. Here, .the word obviously denotes a compound unity. Two people - yet one in the flesh. So echad also means a compound unity in the schma - meaning the Godhead is 3 - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
An anecdote: I was going thru the turnstile at El Al and a man came behind me. The Israeli said to me, “Echad?” meaning, Are you one with him?
The Gospel of John explains the divinity of Jesus:
1:1 says “In the beginning was the word and the word was with God and the word was God.”
1:14 says “And the word was made flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld his glory as of the only begotten of the father, full of grace and truth.”
1:17 says “The law came by Moses, but grace and truth come by Jesus Christ.”
And John 17:21 says (Jesus praying) “that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.” May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.”
1 John 5:7 “There are 3 that bear record in Heaven, the Father, Word and Holy Spirit and these 3 are one.”
ELOHIM, the Hebrew for God, is plural, implying a trinity.
Isaiah 9:6: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it and to establish it with judgement and justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the Lord of Hosts will perform this."
Read Isaiah 53. It is not in the liturgy, because it is so obviously referring to Yeshua, Jesus . It says “he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities...with his stripes we are healed. For the transgression of my people he was stricken...he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth...by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many, for he shall bear their iniquities...and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
The First time I read Isaiah 53, the first line, it said “to whom is the arm of the lord revealed?” I started to cry, and heard in my mind, “to he who seeks his name”. That name is Yeshua, or Jesus. The crying was a reaction to truth from my spirit. God's spirit talks directly to our spirit, and we often have a deep emotional reaction to this. The scriptures say “Deep calls unto deep”.
Jeremiah 31:31 says God will make a NEW COVENANT, “not like the covenant which I made when I led you out of Egypt, which you brake,…I will forgive your sins.” This scripture came to me in a dream when I asked God if Jesus was the messiah.
His Hebrew name, YESHUA, means salvation
John 3:16: For God so loved the world that he sent his only begotten son, that whosoever believed on him would not perish .but have everlasting life. Jesus said “Unless ye be born of the water and born of the spirit ye will not see the kingdom of Heaven."
To be saved;
Accept Jesus (Yeshua) as your messiah.
Repent of your sins. Ask God to tell you any particular sin you need to repent of.
One important thing is to forgive everyone. Jesus said “Unless you forgive people their sins God won’t forgive you yours.” Mathew 6
Pray to be filled with the Holy Spirit, which testifies that Yeshua is the Messiah. That makes you born again.
Be baptized in Jesus or Yeshua’s name.
Pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit as evidenced by talking in tongues, which is praying and prophesying in a heavenly prayer language given by God. When you pray in tongues, the Holy Spirit-talks to you in your thoughts and gives you the interpretation. To receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit you need to fast.
Also, renounce all drugs, such as nicotine or caffeine or alcohol or street drugs or psych meds. All drugs which afffect the mind are openings for unclean spirits which contaminate the Holy Spirit.
To pray effectively, you need to be pure. If one prays contaminated unclean spirits can be transmitted to your target or bring answers from a demonic spirit rather than God.
God can deliver you from all addictions without withdrawal, if you ask it in Jesus' name. Say "I repent of using this drug & I rebuke the addictive spirit of "drug name" in Jesus name. Lord heal me with no withdrawal.
Go to a Pentecostal or Charismatic church where they believe in and pray in tongues, or a messianic synagogue where they believe in Yeshua as Messiah.
Get a King James bible with a concordance. Avoid the more modern translations (the NIV, NRSV, etc. – they have been tampered with and leave out scriptures. Get a bible with a concordance since God often speaks in one word to lead us to a scripture. The concordance lists words and where they occur in scriptures. You can also buy a complete concordance like Strongs, or get the bible on - computer which has a complete concordance.
One of the most powerful early experiences I had that led me to Christ was going to a house church of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship. The worship was so powerful that God’s presence was pouring out in the room; I felt a spirit of Love, flooding through me. I wanted to hug people I didn’t know! I knew this had something to do with Jesus. The Vineyard is a charismatic non-denominational church that is all over the country. Their worship is very powerful and their worship songs are used in evangelical churches all over. Their worship has revolutionized worship in the Christian church. Their songs sing TO God, not just about God, like the hymns. (Those songs are called praise). A mixture of both is called praise and worship. Singing worship songs invokes the Holy Spirit’s presence in response in a very intimate and powerful way. When we talk TO someone and not just about them, it attracts them. Their tapes are available in bookstores and from their website; you can listen on youtube on the web.

Which means, music invokes the Spirit of God which gives us a witness in our spirit of the truth, an intuitive rather than mental process. The devil puts doubts in our minds, but truth is perceived by the heart.
I have had deep emotional reactions like crying while reading scriptures. This is our spirit's way of perceiving truth.
